Join Local HERO Foundation & Canadian Mental Health Association Wood Buffalo at their annual collaborative 50/50 raffle at this years RibFest!

Local HERO Foundation & CMHA Wood Buffalo are recruiting volunteers to assist with selling 50/50 tickers during this years RibFest held at 110 Eymundson Rd. All volunteers will sell 50/50 tickets throughout the event venue using InVenue tap-to-pay machines and processing cash transactions.  As a 50/50 Raffle Ticket Sales Volunteer, you will play an important role in the fundraising efforts by promoting ticket sales, processing transactions efficiently, and ensuring a positive and engaging experience for guests.


Roles & Responsibilities Overview:

  • Approaching attendees, actively selling and encouraging selling of 50/50 raffle tickets to guests across the event space
  • Share key information about the two organizations supported by the raffle.
  • Clearly explain ticket pricing, draw details, current raffle totals and prize information, answering guests’ questions clearly
  • Handling cash and debit/credit transactions (including making change and issuing receipts) quickly and accurately
  • Maintain accurate ticket recording, transaction records, and distributing tickets to guests
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service
  • Coordinate with event staff to ensure raffle operations run smoothly


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
  • Be comfortable approaching and engaging with members of the public.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency to clearly explain ticket prices, purchase options and raffle totals to guests.
  • Ability to be on your feet and walking throughout the venue grounds for extended periods of time, unless on a scheduled break.
  • Be comfortable using a tap-to-pay device and handling cash accurately.
  • Be outgoing, enthusiastic, friendly and willing to actively promote ticket sales.
  • Follow all raffle procedures and responsibly manage the equipment and funds provided.

 

Organizational information, training, and selling instructions will be provided before the event. No previous experience is required. This is a fun, public-facing opportunity for confident and approachable volunteers who want to support two integral local causes.
