Who We Are
Saving lives by saving time. the Local HERO (Helicopter Emergency Response Organization) Foundation funds helicopter emergency medical services in northeastern Alberta.
What We Do
Local HERO is the only provider of this 24/7/365 service. There is no charge to patients. Flights are scene calls to rural areas for patients that are seriously ill or critically injured and require a higher level of care. There are 2 Fort McMurray Fire Department paramedics on every flight. The machine is capable of flying a patient directly to land on a hospital helipad in Edmonton if required.
