Hosting Indigenous artists and performers from the region’s First Nations and Métis communities, along with guest artists for four days of spectacular arts and cultural programming.
The ATC Cultural Festival offers participants engaging and inspiring opportunities highlighting collaboration, artistic development, mentorship, and cultural revitalization.
Hosted by Athabasca Tribal Council, this will be a gathering and celebration that welcomes all people. The ATC Cultural Festival will be both an important community event, and a continuing cultural tourism attraction for Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
Role responsibilities are :
- Organizing plates and cutlers
- Preparing and serving plates to Elders and guests
- Ensuring condiments and refreshments are accessible and refill stock
- Setting up and cleaning up the tables in the gathering tent prior to food service
- Keeping the site clean and safe

Sharing a meal together as a community with guests and visitors is an essential part of Indigenous culture. Food can tell a story or start a conversation. Join us in providing free food to festival attendees, bringing everyone together to experience the hospitality that is our Culture.

During the service, volunteers will organize plates and cutlers, prepare and serve plates to Elders and guests, ensure condiments and refreshments are accessible, assist Elders with finding a table and keep the site clean and safe. At the end of shift, volunteers will clean up the tables as attendees leave the gathering tent. Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes, and bring clothing for all weather conditions.
