The Salvation Army has served the community of Fort McMurray, Alberta, meeting critical needs of the most vulnerable, since 1979. Our thrift store provides items and funds to our community programs year round. As you may or may not know our Thrift Store has been closed since Spring 2020. We have gone through some changes at our store as well as with our new temporary drop off center, and are needing support to try to make up for lost time. We are looking for dedicated, upbeat volunteers who can support us in our day to day Thrift Store activities.
General Duties
Volunteer will:
- Tag clothes for pricing
- Organize clothing and allocate to correct rack
- Tidy clothing racks and keep them in order
- Clean & sanitize item and area(s) as required
- Greet customers that are entering & exiting
- Provide assistance to the Thrift Store team as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
Volunteer will:
- Complete a volunteer package
- Provide a criminal record check (Fee will be waived)
- Complete Covid-19 self-screening declaration prior to starting shift(s)
- Wear a mask & face shield at all times while on the premises
- Be reliable and dedicated to shift(s)
- Function within the guidelines, policies, and procedures of The Salvation Army
- Support the mission of The Salvation Army
