Fort McMurray Heritage Village Society holds some of Fort McMurray's oldest building and historical artifacts.
Due to the flooding of the Athabasca and Clearwater River, Heritage Village is in immediate need of volunteers to help prepare sandbags to protect the historical village.
Volunteers who sign up must have the following:
- Work Gloves
- Masks (if you have your own, please bring it - we are currently working on procuring additional)
- Eye protection (if available)
- Work boots or rubber boots
- Proper clothing (long sleeved shirts, long pants - identifiable colours)
- Food/Water for yourself
Key Items to note:
This is a physical role and will require proper clothing and protection. You will be filling sandbags.
Entrance only through the Roundabout on Responder's Way. Volunteers must indicate that they signed up through FuseSocial for Heritage Village.
Please park across the street from the Village as the parking lot will be used for filling sandbags.
You will sign in at the front deck at Heritage Village.
Volunteers will have to answer a questionnaire and will be screened for COVID symptoms upon arrival.
