The bright red kettles are back!
And we need your help make our Annual Christmas Kettle Campaign
a success.
The campaign runs Nov. 18 to Dec. 23. Various two-hour shifts are available Monday to Saturday at Canadian Tire, the Real Canadian Superstore, Michelle’s Independent, Sobeys Thickwood, Save-On Stonecreek, Peter Pond Mall and Walmart.
What a great way to spend a couple of hours as a family. Volunteers can also complete their two hours as a work crew or sports team. You can pair up and cover different kettle locations. You’re welcome to wear your work or team jackets to promote your companies or teams.
All you need to do is look after the kettle, be friendly and thank people when they make a donation. We do have little gifts to give out to donors including those yummy little candy canes.
All donations collected during the Christmas Kettle Campaign stay in Fort McMurray and help fund our Community and Family Services department all year.

The Annual Christmas Kettle Campaign is a critical fund-raiser for our Community and Family Services department.
This is a frontline service that works hard to help all who walk through its doors. It helps low income and at-risk families and individuals. It assists all ages, newborn to senior.
This department offers practical assistance such as helping keep the lights on, a roof over their heads and providing emergency food supplies. It can even help pay for medical prescriptions. Sometimes, it’s simply staff offering a caring ear to hear their daily struggles and knowing there is someone out there who cares.
From Jan. 1 to Aug. 31 this year, our Community and Family Services department has already assisted 3,350 adults and 959 children.
In 2018, the department was able to support 5,205 adults and 1,074 children.
That assistance included $7,402 in children’s needs such as diapers and formula; $41,746 in clothing and personal item vouchers; $5,778 in food vouchers; and $12,933.56 for utility arrears.
Please help us and volunteer to help ensure a successful Christmas Kettle Campaign to assist our Community and Family Services department all year.
Thank you.
