Volunteer Opportunity: School Breakfast Program Ride-Along
Description: School Breakfast Program Ride-Along volunteers support staff by assisting with weekly food pick-ups from Save-On-Foods and delivering breakfast items to schools across Fort McMurray. This role helps ensure students have reliable access to nutritious food to start their school day.
Schedule: Day: Every Monday
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Time Commitment: 3 hours weekly
Responsibilities:
- Ride along with staff to pick up school breakfast orders from Save-On-Foods
- Assist with loading and unloading food items
- Help distribute breakfast supplies to multiple schools in Fort McMurray
- Ensure food is handled safely and respectfully
- Support staff throughout the delivery route
Requirements:
- Ability to lift light to moderate weight items
- Comfortable riding in a vehicle for several hours
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Interest in supporting child and youth food security
