About Us: Ihkapaskwa Collective is a grassroots, Indigenous-led non-profit dedicated to improving perinatal healthcare and culturally specific programming and support for Indigenous families. Our mission is to empower Indigenous communities to achieve optimal maternal and infant health through culturally responsive care, education, and advocacy.

Opportunity: We are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our volunteer board of directors. As a board member, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of our organization, drive positive change, and contribute to our vision of bringing birth back to community.

Qualifications:

Dedication to improving perinatal healthcare for Indigenous communities. Understanding and respect for Indigenous cultural practices and values. A commitment to social justice and health equity. Skills and experience in areas such as healthcare, finance, fundraising, legal, marketing, or community organizing are highly valued. Preference given to First Nation and Metis community members (as per our Bylaws)

Responsibilities:

Provide strategic guidance and oversight for our perinatal initiatives and partnerships. Collaborate with fellow board members and our dedicated staff to achieve our goals. Participate in fundraising and advocacy efforts to support our programs. Attend regular board meetings and committee meetings (Seasonally/Quarterly) Promote our organization's mission and values within your networks and communities.
