Volunteer: Sport and Recreation Program VolunteerAlberta Sports and Recreation Association for the Blind is seeking volunteers to assist with sport and recreational programming for individuals with a visual impairment in Fort McMurray. ASRAB supports Albertans who are blind or visually impaired to live physically active lives and participate in competitive sport programs. We do this by: offering physical literacy and fundamental movement skills to children; providing sport programs (goalball - a Paralympic sport developed for persons with a vision impairment), offering a continuum of programs and services in a wide variety of recreational activities that supports participation and engagement of the blind and visually impaired in their local communities. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Volunteers will assist program leads in recreational and sport programs for youth and adults with visual impairment. PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION Assist with introductory sport and movement classes for children with visual impairments. Assist with recreational programming and introduction to Goalball for individuals with a visual impairment of all ages. OTHER DUTIES Assist with setting up and taking down any necessarily equipment. Attend ASRAB training to learn more about adapted physical activity. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS An interest in volunteering with individuals with a visual impairment. Hold a passion for physical activity that you would like to share.
