Volunteer: The Salvation Army Thrift Store VolunteerThe Salvation Army has served the community of Fort McMurray, Alberta, meeting critical needs of the most vulnerable, since 1979. Our thrift store provides items and funds to our community programs year round. As you may or may not know our Thrift Store has been closed since Spring 2020. We have gone through some changes at our store as well as with our new temporary drop off center, and are needing support to try to make up for lost time. We are looking for dedicated, upbeat volunteers who can support us in our day to day Thrift Store activities. Volunteer: The Salvation Army Outreach ProgramYOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! The Salvation Army is currently looking for volunteers for our outreach program. Our Outreach worker does street outreach 5 nights per week from 4pm to 9pm, 12 months a year. He provides the homeless and vulnerable people who are living in encampments or on the streets with bag lunches, juice boxes, water, granola bars and other food items. He also provides blankets, winter jackets, boots, scarves and toques, hand and foot warmers, and many other items to those who need them. We are always looking for volunteers to go out with our outreach worker. If you really want to make a difference, then this opportunity is for you.
