The Northern Lights Health Foundation’s 7th Annual Hospital Bed Races, presented by Birch Mountain Enterprises LP are a fun and entertaining family event where teams of four race in head-to-head heats while pushing a hospital bed 50 meters, with the fastest team winning the coveted golden bedpan trophy.
As one of the BED RUNNERS, you play a vital role with ensuring the behind the scenes of the races run smoothly. Some of your duties include, but are not limited to:
- Collect the beds from a finished race and quickly bring them to the Pit Crew located near the start line (orientation will be provided prior to the start of the shift)
- Return to the finish line and await the end of the next race
- Work under direction of the Volunteer Coordinator/Assistant and a NLHF staff member
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to push a 150+ lb hospital bed over 50 meters
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
Attributes:
- Close-toed shoes required
- Dress for the weather (wear layers)
