Project Coordinator Volunteer Opportunity
JOB OVERVIEW:
The project coordinator role is key to Alberta Community Togetherness Society’s vision and goals. The successful candidate should be a resident within Wood Buffalo and report to the ACTS Board of Directors and the Executive Director. The project coordinator will oversee the strategic planning of all operations in Fort McMurray, functions and activities within the region. As the organization's face, the incumbent will be responsible for giving the proper strategic direction by implementing a high-quality vision and strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
• Developing and implementing strategies aiming to promote the organizations mission to establish a Youth Treatment & Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray within the Wood buffalo region.
• Arranging and coordinating meetings with partners, focusing on developing, implementing and evaluation of the program life cycle.
• Interfacing with stakeholders and sharing the organizational vision for the region.
• Develop high-quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives of ACTS.
Stakeholder Relations and Fund Development
• Identify key strategic partners for the development of the ACTS Fort McMurray Youth Treatment & Wellness Centre.
• Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for program development
• Work with corporate communications personnel and the Executive Director to develop and implement program implementation timeline and communications plan approved by the Board of Directors and the Executive Director.
•Forge and maintain relations of trust with stakeholders, partners and external authorities in Wood buffalo and outside the region.
•Act as the lead person for ACTS Fort McMurray Youth Treatment and Wellness Centre in ways that strengthen its goals and objectives.
• Other duties as assigned
Fiscal Responsibility
• Planning and evaluating budget for the project
• Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
REQUIREMENTS:
• Masters’ Degree in Business Administration, Leadership or equivalent
• Mental Health or Social Work Certification
• Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable sector check
• Child Intervention Check
• 3-5 years of experience in leading not-for-profit organization would be an asset
• Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; an aptitude for learning new computer systems

• Ability to multi-task and be in control of numerous tasks at any one time with a strong sense of organization
• Passionate about youth and mental health initiatives
• Take part in developing and maintaining respectful professional working relationships with team members, families, and the community
• Ability to apply successful fundraising and networking techniques
