Volunteer: CIM Golf Tournament - Games Assistant

Time Commitment: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM (or until the last team finishes)

Location: Fort McMurray Golf Club (1 Real Martin Drive, Fort McMurray, AB T9H 4V9)

The CIM Oil Sands Golf Tournament, presented by Kichton will be held at the Fort McMurray Golf Club on June 13, with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Participants will enjoy a welcome barbecue, networking opportunities, activities on the course, prizes, raffles, banquet dinner, live music and of course, a fun-filled day of golf! Proceeds raised from the event will support the Northern Lights Health Foundation.

As one of the Game Assistants, your role will provide a fun and welcoming atmosphere as tournament guests arrive at the hole. Some of your duties include but are not limited to:

·         Invite and welcome tournament guests to play the game

·         Clearly explain the rules of the game (orientation will be provided prior to the start of the shift)

·         Collect cash payments and return change (if any) for game tickets

·         Explain any prize(s) associated with the game

·         Work under the direction of a NLHF staff member/CIM organizer

Working Conditions:

·         Event takes place outdoors on a golf course which may include exposure to varying weather conditions including extreme heat or rain

Dress Code:

Examples of acceptable wear include:

·         CLOSED-TOED SHOES REQUIRED (sneakers are fine)

·         Men: Golf shirts, tee shirts, sweater, sweatshirt or pullover, golf shorts, pants, jeans (no rips), golf shoes, runners

·         Women: Skirts, skort, pants, leggings, golf shirt, sleeveless golf shirt, tee shirt, sweater or pullover, golf shoes, runners


Skills & Qualifications:

·         Friendly and energetic with a passion for engaging the public

·         Strong customer service and communication skills

·         Ability to be on your feet for an extended period of time

Attributes:

·         Closed-toed shoes required

·         BBQ lunch provided

·         Dinner provided

·         Volunteer t-shirts provided

Set against the backdrop of long, sunlit evenings, Hello Summer will take over SMS Equipment Stadium at MIP on July 4 and 5, 2026 offering an unforgettable experience of music, food and fun. The Northern Lights Health Foundation is teaming up with MIP to offer the community a chance to win big with 50/50 raffle tickets sales during the first night of the festival.

As part of the 50/50 Raffle Crew, your role is vital is selling 50/50 raffle tickets to the guests as soon as the gates open for the festival. Some of your duties include, but are not limited to:

Invite and welcome guests to purchase 50/50 ticketsExplain any prize(s) associated with the purchase of tickets Collect cash payments and return change (if any) for ticketsUse of handheld interact machine to complete debit and credit transactions (orientation will be provided)Provide customer receipts and keep transaction copies in the cash boxWork under the direction of a NLHF staff member
