Volunteer: Warehouse VolunteerWarehouse volunteers are essential for the day to day running of all of our operations here at the Wood Buffalo Food Bank. This opportunity will enable you to provide an immediate and meaningful impact on supporting families and individuals facing food insecurity. Warehouse volunteer roles can include making food hampers, sorting and stocking food, portioning items, working in the fridge/freezer, cleaning. Some heavy lifting may be required. You will be working with our dedicated team who will assist you in the different jobs you may do during your shift. Conversations and questions are always welcome and encouraged! Volunteer: School Breakfast Program Ride-AlongVolunteer Opportunity: School Breakfast Program Ride-Along Description: School Breakfast Program Ride-Along volunteers support staff by assisting with weekly food pick-ups from Save-On-Foods and delivering breakfast items to schools across Fort McMurray. This role helps ensure students have reliable access to nutritious food to start their school day. Schedule: Day: Every Monday Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Time Commitment: 3 hours weekly Responsibilities: Ride along with staff to pick up school breakfast orders from Save-On-Foods Assist with loading and unloading food items Help distribute breakfast supplies to multiple schools in Fort McMurray Ensure food is handled safely and respectfully Support staff throughout the delivery routeRequirements: Ability to lift light to moderate weight items Comfortable riding in a vehicle for several hours Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions Interest in supporting child and youth food securityImpact: By volunteering in this role, you help ensure students across Fort McMurray have access to consistent, nutritious breakfasts, supporting learning, health, and well-being.
