Volunteer: Seniors VolunteerThe Seniors Volunteer Program with St. Aidan's Society strives to improve the quality of life for seniors by ensuring community volunteers are available to help support seniors in meeting their needs
____________ MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE AND THE LIFE OF A SENIOR! By recruiting, screening, and matching volunteers with seniors in need, we are able to ensure seniors have improved capacity to remain in their homes independently, have decreased social isolation and loneliness, and improved overall health and well-being. Depending on the time available and interests, a volunteer will be matched with a senior whose interests and needs are similar. There are opportunities for a few hours a month to a few hours a week. Some common needs include: Visiting-many older adults spend much of their time alone and would enjoy phone calls and visits from a volunteer. Driver Support-transportation to and from appointments. This may also require escort into appointments. Shopping Support-either accompany or go for your match on shopping trips, eg grocery shopping, and help with purchasing and putting away itemsIf you'd like to make a meaningful impact for seniors in our community, this is the opportunity for you!
